What should I do if the bag clamp of the organic fertilizer packaging machine doesn't work?

While the organic fertilizer packaging machine was in use, the bag clamp suddenly stopped working, and the bags on the production line couldn't be put on. Possible causes and handling methods

1. Insufficient air pressure or airway failure

Reasons: Insufficient compressed air pressure, air pipe leakage, loose joints or damage to pneumatic components.

Solution: First, check if the output pressure of the air compressor is stable (generally 0.5 to 0.7MPa), then follow the air pipe to identify the leakage point and tighten the joint. If the cylinder itself is leaking, it may be necessary to replace the sealing ring or the cylinder.

2. Abnormal sensor signal

Cause: The position of the proximity switch or photoelectric sensor at the bag opening is offset, the surface is dirty, or the signal line is loose.

Handling: Clean the sensor's sensing surface, adjust the distance between it and the bag clamping position to an appropriate range, and check if the plug is securely inserted. You can test whether the signal light responds normally by covering it with your hand.

3. Mechanical structure jamming

Reasons: Dust accumulation and rust on the guide rod of the bag clamp, material lumps stuck in the clamping arm, or loose fastening screws causing component misalignment.

Solution: After the machine stops, manually try to push the clamping arm to check if it operates smoothly. Clean the fertilizer residue on the guide rail and the clamping arm, and add a small amount of lubricating oil. Confirm that all connecting parts are not loose.

4. Electrical control issues

Cause: The solenoid valve coil is burned out, the PLC output point is abnormal, or the intermediate relay has poor contact.

Handling: Observe whether there is a slight "click" sound when the solenoid valve is powered on. If not, it may indicate a coil fault. Check whether the corresponding output indicator light of the PLC is on. It is recommended that an electrician conduct the inspection in sections according to the circuit diagram.

5. Program or parameter errors

Reason: After the equipment was shut down, the parameters were accidentally reset, or the program became disordered due to interference.

Handling: Check whether the parameters such as bag clamping delay and holding time on the touch screen have been modified. Restart the control system when necessary and restore the backup parameters.

Daily maintenance tips

Clean the dust around the bag clamp once a week, check the cylinder operation and sensor sensitivity every month, and lubricate and maintain the moving parts every quarter. Many minor problems are actually caused by the accumulated dirt in daily life.
